Let hot get even hotter. Give your chicken tenders an xtra spicy kick with this spicy-sweet, saucy recipe crafted by Jill Maniago (@jillcooksthings).

  • lb chicken tenderloins

  • 1 cup flour

Wet batter:
Seasoned flour:
  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1 tbsp pepper

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp cayenne

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp onion powder



Combine all the wet batter ingredients — buttermilk, eggs, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, and Xtra Spicy Chili Crisp.

Marinate chicken in wet batter for at least 1 hour or overnight in the fridge.

Whisk seasoned flour ingredients — flour, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and onion powder

After marinating the chicken, transfer the tenderloins from the wet batter in another bowl

Dip each tenderloin first into the regular flour, back into the wet batter, and then into the seasoned flour.

Fry on medium high heat for 3-5 minutes until light golden brown. Let the chicken rest then double fry on high heat for 1 minute until it turns into a darker golden brown.

Add the butter, honey, and Xtra Spicy Chili Crisp to a pan and simmer until bubbly.

Pour the hot sauce over the tenderloins in a bowl and lightly shake.
