CANDIED BACON
Give your taste buds a jolt with this delightfully crunchy, savory, and sweet snack. Bacon, already enjoyable in every possible form, gets a spicy-sweet makeover with this tasty treat, c/o Dorcas Lin (@miracletoneslover).
1 lb thick cut bacon
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp Fly by Jing Zhong Sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp orange juice
½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and, if possible, place an oven-safe wire rack on top of it for ensured crispiness.
Arrange the bacon slices tightly next to each other on the wire rack.
Roast in the oven until the fat is slightly rendering, about 10-12 minutes.
Combine brown sugar, Zhong Sauce, garlic powder, orange juice, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Remove bacon from the oven. (If you’re not using an oven rack, pour out most of the excess fat render from the tray).
Using a silicone brush, brush the top of the bacon with half of the sauce mixture.
Put the bacon back into the oven for 5-7 more minutes.
Remove the bacon from the oven.
Carefully flip each piece then brush with the remaining half of mixture.
Roast in the oven for another 5-7 minutes.
Let cool for a few minutes once out of the oven so the mixture can harden and the bacon can crisp up.
Serve warm, and enjoy!
